Our History and Mission
At Fall in MalayaLove (FIM) (commonly miscalled “Fall in Malayalam”), our mission is to bring together the Malayalee Christian community by providing a platform for individuals with shared cultural backgrounds to discover potential romantic relationships. This objective guides our efforts in organizing in-person speed dating events, matchmaking activities, and other related initiatives and strategies.
We hosted our inaugural matchmaking event on September 9, 2023 in Dallas, TX. Participants flew in from over 47 U.S. cities to attend. The success of our first event garnered several press features throughout Malayalam news media, including the Malaya Manorama.
Our 2nd event was held on June 1, 2024 in Brooklyn, NY and our 3rd event was held on September 20, 2025 in Chicago, IL.
And the best part? These nights have turned into lifetimes: three marriages that we know of so far, with a fourth engagement on the way 👀 (announcement still TBD). Meet some of the couples on our success stories page.

Icebreaker Games
You'll be nervous, makes sense. So we'll lighten the mood and calm those nerves with some super fun icebreaker activities.
1:1 Speed Dating
Timed rounds to get to know each person. All pairings are based on dating preferences from your application.
Dinner
Buffet-style dinner so you can eat as much (or as little) as your nerves allow.

Full service bar all night.
Live Entertainment
Reality TV-esque live entertainment during dinner for the audience's enjoyment. At FIM 3.0, we hosted a live blind date on stage. The crowd loved it.

The classic Malayalee activities for a fun night.
Malayalee Cupid
See PastEvery year, a mysterious Cupid arrives to spread the love. Nobody knows who it is before the event.
After Party
After 4-5 hours of all the festivities, we bring in a DJ to party it up for 2 more hours. This is included in the price of your ticket.
Sunday Brunch
Optional next-day brunch to keep the vibes going and build on the connections from the night before.

Matt George
CEO & Co-Founder
Matt George is the comedian behind the satire comedy account @mallutrump. Fueled by a passion for community engagement, he co-founded Fall in MalayaLove after recognizing the strong desire from the Malayalee Christian community for community-centric dating. He's also a legaltech entrepreneur, software engineer, currently running injuria.ai and thatcarhitme.com to help victims of car accidents. He has raging adhd.
Julie George
COO & Co-Founder
Julie George (no relation) co-founded FIM to curate dating experiences and opportunities exclusively for the Malayalee Christian community, helping bridge the gap between geographical distances and online dating fatigue. She previously hosted The Brown Girl Podcast, currently on an indefinite hiatus and bringing it back remains filed under “someday” in her brain. She is a proud plant mom to 14 houseplants (she would have more but her husband imposed a plant ban) and also new mom to her son Zayden, who currently occupies most of her time, camera roll, and heart.
