You all did an amazing job! For someone like me, who was born and raised entirely in India, it's quite rare to get a chance to meet and talk with ladies in a setting like this(especially one that feels a bit like being a lone warrior on a battlefield surrounded by their families!) I felt completely comfortable with your arrangements. I even made a couple of new male friends and let go of a few old biases along the way. Overall, I'm genuinely happy and grateful for how the speed dating event turned out.

At first, I was extremely nervous with the idea of being part of a speed dating event. I normally would have never put myself out there like this, but since it was in Chicago, a place where I've been wanting to visit again, I decided to go ahead and apply. I didn't really go into the event with high hopes, but to my surprise, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would! Everyone was extremely nice and open to getting to know each other. The Pods helped so much in easing my nerves by having a group of people I could hangout with throughout the event. I also loved being able to invite my friends to the afterparty! Overall, I would recommend this event to others! Even if you don't build romantic connections, just being around other Malayalee Christians was really fun!

I was nervous but I'm glad I went because I made some great friends. The pods were a great idea. I do wish I had more time to talk to my speed dates so I could get to know them better. But overall, it was a great way to meet new people within our community.

I was really impressed with how organized the event was. The App was also really well made and intuitive. Overall, I think the event went really well! I was able to meet a lot of people and build on some friendships. The event location was nice and there were a lot of activities to do upstairs. I was really anxious going into the event and didn't know if I had what it took to participate in speed dating even if nothing comes out of this and I'm not able to find a partner. I'm really happy that I was able to gain that confidence, knowing that I have that capability in myself.

I've been to a speed dating event before that wasn't good so going into this one my expectations were pretty low. This event definitely exceeded my expectations. I got to meet and talk to a lot of people and make great connections. This experience gave me the confidence boost I needed going forward with forming new relationships in the future.

I think the event was definitely a wonderful time to connect with other Malayalee Christians in today's dating scene. It was great to meet such wonderful people and have a fun time with the speed dates. Overall had a good time with the puppies and getting to meet Bobby from Indian Matchmaking! Overall, I really enjoyed helping plan and attending the 2023 event. I met new colleagues, made some professional connections and founds some new friends along the way. Despite having been on many dating apps, I ended up having more meaningful dates stemming from people I met from this event alone. It also reminded me that there are plenty of single malayalee christian men out there. After the inaugural event, numerous individuals have approached me asking about the event and interest in future events. I appreciate the initiative the founders have taken in this endeavor.

Even though I did not make any romantic relationships with anyone I met at FIM, I matched with a guy from Dil Mil who was at the event. We ended talking about the event on our first date and how we missed each other (but he saw me there) and now we have entered a romantic relationship. I definitely walked in with reservations but hopeful. After the event I was thoroughly glad I participated. Even though finding options at an older age seemed hard, it was nice to meet alot of options. I'm glad we also had time to mingle and get to know people outside of of initial criteria. What I really appreciated most was the sense of support. I went in thinking there would be a sense if competition but was happily surprised to walk away with new friends from both genders. I've already recommended this event to all my single friends! They had FOMO

I think for the first of its kind, this event was a very good catalyst to starting more events like these for malayalee christians all across the US. In an age where technology takes over our daily lives, it was great to steer away from the now norms of trying to make connections via dating apps to make in person connections in real time instead.

I thought for the first time doing an event like this, it was an overall successful turnout. My fear was that it would be competitive amongst the guys. Overall the guys were all friendly and cordial. I met two very kind Malayalee women that I had a connection with. One I had a speed date with the other I didn't. I would love to see additional time on dates and time moving in/out of the room during rounds.

This event was so fun! Though I did not put anyone on my interest form, it was really fun meeting other Indian Christians in real life. Here are three things in particular I really loved about the event: 1. This event was SO well-planned. For a first time event, I cannot believe how carefully planned and intentional this was. From the way speed dates were matched up, to the mutual matching system afterward, to the dating room vs common room to the communications and how you took our feedback into consideration..the entire experience was SO well done so 10000 kudos to the team! I truly enjoyed myself. 2. I didn't find love, but I did meet some really great gal pals! Everyone was so friendly and open and it was really nice being able to bond with others who were having the same experience/in a similar life stage. 3. I really enjoyed the variety of events. From the speed dating, to the big group group with the activities, to the after-party and brunch, I felt like there was a good mix so whatever your personality, you could chill and find people to talk to.

For this being the first time that FIM happened, I was blown away by how well everything was organized. The day in itself was fantastic. The venue looked beautiful, the agenda was very thought out, the extra activities were entertaining, and I even met some new gal pals. Julie & Matt literally went above and beyond to make this happen. I can't thank them enough. A lot of what they do outside social media, doesn't go unnoticed and I'm sure this wasn't an easy task by any means. This is the first time anything like this has been done in our malu community before and I'm so glad to be a part of the first FIM event. I'm glad that a lot of us were able to see & meet people on the dating apps face to face for the first time, who we've never had a chance to meet, and for those who weren't on the dating apps, this was a great way to put yourself out there and see what can come out of it. I went into this event with low expectations being my first speed dating event, and in the end it didn't end up being too fruitful for me. However, I was not at all disappointed. In fact, I was surprised by how enjoyable the whole experience was. Matt, Julie and the team did a fantastic job curating this event, from the actual speed dates to the events in between. The fruit of their efforts were on full display, most of all with the warm energy I felt the whole night. I loved the stations set up outside too, as it gave me a chance to have some conversations with people that I wouldn't have had the time to have inside the speed room. Lastly, it was cool to meet all these guys from around the country too, they were all super chill and honestly getting to know em was enough for me in the end. All in all, I had fun. And I would love to do this again if they let me lol.

The only thing I knew about speed dating prior to attending this event was from what you see in the movies and TV shows, where individuals would be on speed dates the entire time. However, this event included a main lounge, which was a space where participants could meet other people, engage in the activities that were set up or even unwind (if needed) in between rounds. This was a nice buffer since speed dating can be really exhausting with meeting so many new people simultaneously. As an attendee, you could tell there was a ton of planning, effort and time that was spent into this event so huge shoutout to Julie and Matt, and anyone else who helped out :) It was overall a fun experience and loved having the opportunity to meet people in-person and form new friendships. Highly recommend it to anyone who is tired of the dating apps!

This was such a great idea. I had a lot of fun expanding my circle and getting to know people and sharing our common dating experiences. Overall, I enjoyed the event very much mostly because it was organized and communicated very well. There were many parts to the event besides the speed dating that made it exciting even the surprise of the Malayalee Cupid (funny and cute even though I didn't feel strong about sending someone a rose). I loved having the women in one area first and orienting us separately. It allowed me to make some friends right from the start and to check in with people throughout the event. I also like how once men and women were in the same room following our individual orientations, there were instructions for the day and just general pep talking about dating and how nervewrecking it can be. I definitely felt comfortable for the whole event and it was fun! Food and dessert were delicious especially the mango pickle.

I had such an amazing time in Dallas that weekend! The event was so well thought out and planned! Made so many new friends from all over the country. Some of us had canceled/rescheduled flights but had a great time getting to know each other during our extra day together. I'm super proud of myself for doing this and putting myself out there.
